typical middle of the week card, except the fields are surprisingly full. let's see what we can do with it.

r2: early snow. think this one lays over thie field, dropping out of the competitive derby trial at fairplex. his only race over the course was good, and 1:11 and change work means he's on his toes. will we get 9/5? perhaps not, but anything better than 7/5 is value in this short field.

r5: sun city bradley. 4/1 on the m/l is a steal for this ultra talented son of american day. he's bred to sprint, but has the build of a router (he's a big big horse). o'dell looks to have him cranked ofr a comeback. the october 4th work at los al??? is a bit weird, but patrick should have him away well from tthe rail. the wacky longshot is salvaje memo with gonzo aboard; he looks like he didn't like del mar and now should get a good trip from just off the pace.

r6: gentleman player. seems to be a pattern for me today- i like pval again. 'player debuts for a tag for the crafty o'neill and the only one who sort of scares me is big longshot rj's quest with iggy up. 'player has been working steadily, but not spectacularly, and i bet he shows some speed for the best gate rider in the world, pval.

r8: very presidential. we'll try to beat pval in the nightcap, as in excess success figures a very short price in here/ 'presidential is probably best routing, but i'm hoping these cheap geldings and colts get tired late and presidential can come with a big late run. at 8/1 , i'll pay a little bit to find out.

no name,

doc holiday has always had a touch of class, although i think he's best as a late running sprinter. he has natural speed, which means the rail draw will help; however, long gone con has speed and he won't be left alone to his own devices. if that horse scratches, i'd upgrade his chances. tradition rocks and trial by jury will both be tough.

very frustrating day so far. early snow get bet down to an unplayable 3/5 and wound up a worse than looked second.

sun city bradley took a ton of money and won by 7 lengths in 1:08 and change- at an underlaid 3/2.

they just scratched gentleman player right before the sixth.
